• The Lee-White coagulation time is still used today as a method of measuring the speed of blood coagulation.
• These inhibitory properties as well as their inhibition of plasma kallikrein and thrombin, reduces the production of thrombin and coagulation time.
• The most likely additive to cause trouble is EDTA, which will affect the coagulation time assays ( as aforementioned )  and, by chelating some of the metal ions, may interfere with some of the biochemistry results ( especially potassium ).
